The Sacred Window of Ayurvedic Postpartum Care -

Mothering the Mother

The moment the child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before.

My Postpartum Experience

I had a wonderful pregnancy with my first son, an amazing home birth but my first postpartum experience wasn’t great… fact it was fairly terrible for a while.

After being feared into hospital after my first baby was born things got a little rocky and I then experienced difficulties in the postpartum period as I wasn’t able to adhere to Ayurvedic postnatal protocol and things didn’t go well.

You can read more about my story here.

However my suffering has led me to be passionate about re-educating women about this sacred time in your life. It is a vitally important time that needs to be reclaimed so that we can avoid the epidemic of postpartum anxiety, loneliness and exhaustion we are experiencing in the West.

Most new mothers in the West feel exhausted, fatigued, depleted and maybe even depressed in those first few weeks postpartum.

This is because we don’t nurture and take care of new mothers in the right way.

Don’t be one of them, learn how to transition the postpartum period with health and wellness the Ayurvedic way.

Do you want to transition into motherhood feeling exhausted?

Or rejuvenated?

According to Ayurveda, the first 42 days postpartum can dictate the next 42 years of your life and health….it is wise to honour this important and sacred time.

We were never meant to birth and mother alone, so don't! It takes a village to raise a child and a community to support a new mother.
